Jolly Good Night in Orford

Here are the pics of our night at Orford, the rooms at the Jolly Sailor were lovely, with all the little touches that make it special, once we'd fathomed out how to use the new fangled coffee maker (whats wrong with a kettle and tbag!?) and found the Country Living magazines

Before dinner we got dressed up and went for a walk around the river and back to the pub

As you can see the pub was very cosy and welcoming on a cold evening, the ale was very dark and the food extremely tasty

The ensuite facilities were fab aswell

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

The Snow Queen came to visit us last night, i had to abandon my trip out and go to a nearby place for Mulled Wine instead, which was no hardship really.

The pictures are tiny but this is what Felixstowe is looking like this morning, and what i will be seeing once i put my wellies on and walk along the prom to work.

I'm wondering if the snow will be deep enough for Snow Angels?

I certainly wont be getting my bike out today:)

if you want me i'll be here....

It's that time of year, the time to treat yourself to a night in a lovely village pub, put your walking boots on and discover the surrounding country side, before settling in front of the with a hot toddy or two.
We'll be doing that here, at the Jolly Sailor in Orford

and luckily there are rooms to rent too :)

Keeping warm

We (and the customers) are managing to keep toastie in the shop with a range of Winter Warming Drinks and Nibbles. The shop is smelling of Toasted Waffles, Warm Brownies and Hot Chocolate. MMMMMMMM

I've let my artistic side go wild with the Snowman as you can see

So i have been doing some work in between playing with my new toy, which i still love :)

Ahhhhhhhhhh

ok i'm not sure what is happening to my blog at the moment, i was trying to put a nice background on it but it didn't seem to work. If you have any top tips about how to do this please share!!!
Meanwhile i will muddle on and see if i can come up with something...

Thankyou Santa

Oh i'm such lucky girlie look what plopped on my doorstep this morning
In fact there were two, his and hers:) I haven't quite sussed all the buttons yet, but i'm sure it's going to make my blog writting much more fun, so be prepared!

The countdown begins...

My how the days fly by. In honor of it being the first day of December today there was a little patch of frost on the roof opposite my house.
The fires seem to have been burning continuously for about 3 weeks now, but at least the house is warm, and i have managed not to put the heating on yet this winter :)

It only seems like yesterday that i was riding my bicycle everywhere.
I miss my bike in the winter, as i hate cycling in the wind.
So it will probably stay in the garage apart from the odd jolly to the pub

Crafting for Christmas

It has occurred to me that i really haven't shown off my Crafty goodies, i do like to make people gifts for Birthdays/Christmas and this year i have made a few things. I'm not going to show you those as you never know who is peeking!, but here are a few pics of some things I've made in the past:

The pic above is what i call the Sweetie Set, couldn't you just eat them?!

These two are very jewel-like.

You can probably guess this is from my jewellery making phase, i haven't made any Jewellery yet for presents this year as I've been doing other (secret) things, but you never know. It could happen yet.

More new toys..

I have to confess that when Hubbie goes out on a Tues night i am guilty of finding what he would call 'American Trash' TV to watch. I light the fire, get my blanket and settle in for a cosy night of indulgence without any moaning about 'what on earth are you watching'

This seasons Gossip Girl is particularly appealing, since we've got back from NYC i find myself looking behind the characters to see where they are, and if I've been there.

So you won't be surprised that i have longed for a Blackberry for a while, and now it seems i have one. My very own. Now i don't even have to get up from the sofa, emails just come straight to me :)

All i need to do is sort my wardrobe out, get some kick-ass high heels, and I'm there!

Cosy Monday Mornings

It's dark and rainy this morning, but what better excuse do i need to cosy up by the fire with Blanket & Book?
I got some cheap fairy lights from Tesco last week, for only a pound! I think they will be a pernanent fixture on the mantle piece, i love them.

Also love my 'Lucy on a Windy Day' Print from the lovely Emily Martin, which you can get on Etsy :)

Happy Rainy Days :)

Those were the days..

When you thought you could dig to Australia, with a spade that was almost as big as you!
This is a pic i've got up in the kitchen of Kevin when he was a wee lad.

How cute was he? Mind you he isn't so bad nowadays either just a lot older and wiser, and plays with big greasy vehicles instead of sand. :)

Bunting love..

I haven't told you about my new toy, in the shape of a sewing machine that my mum gave me. It used to belong to my Gran and i've been having fun playing with it.
This is the first thing i've made with a sewing machine scince high school, and although it just looks like a few triangles on a piece of binding, to me it's much more than that!

I really am quite chuffed :)

Blogging for Bliss! At Last!!!!

I've been waiting and waiting.... patiently scince August.
It is so popular that Amazon sold out straight away, but at last i have it. Even though i had to wait an extra day as i missed the postie and it wouldn't fit through my letter box:(
That extra day was long..

Blogging for bliss by Tara Frey.
I'm halfway through it, and i'm sure there
will be many cold winter days sat at the computer looking at all the featured blogs, i can hardly wait.

Let it Snow..

I'm wondering if we will get any snow this winter? Proper snow. Not the stuff that turns to mush in the blink of an eye, but real sledging snowman building snow which, when piled up at the end of the drive way, the mountains are bigger than a small person.
This type of snow we had when i was little and living in the north of England.
Sometimes i wonder, were the snow piles really that big? Or was i just really small?

The pic above is my littlest niece in the snow one scottish winter. Thats exactly what snow should look like isnt it?

Those cupcakes were delicious. We had some, and took some home. Yummie Yum Yum.

Life since NYC

Still catching up with what we've been doing in the Blog absence..
The very same day that we landed back in England after our fabulous trip to NY, we hopped in the Reo and went to Henham Steam Fair.
This is a show we go to every year so didnt want to miss out on. Even though we were sooo tired, we slept for 13 hours straight on the first night, after being up for something like a zillion.
But it was worth it as we got to see the pretty Steam Engines..

As you can see i didnt get too energetic that weekend, i just sat around and basked in the late summer sun. Modelling my Magnolia Bakery NY T-shirt :)

Things to do whilst in New York City..

Thought i'd share some more photos of the hol.. we were very lucky with the weather the sun shone every day, there was just about half an hour of rain on our last morning.
Central Park is bigger than you can ever imagine, we walked around it for about 2 hours and only saw a tiny corner, but we did find this little slice of heaven nestled in there somewhere.

The Tavern on The Green is a lovely place, full of Chandeliers, lacy table cloths and bone china inside and the trees are decked with lanterns and fairy lights outside. We went in the day but it would be great to go there in the evening when all the lights are on,
Above is us enjoying afternoon tea.

You cant go to NY without trying the cocktails, i tried Berry Blush, and yes i only had the one...
Just call me Carrie.
The bus tour over to Brooklyn at night was great, we got to look over at the Skyline.
Fabulous.

I'm Back!

Ohmygooodness where have the months gone?
It's been a bit of a blur of wellie's, camping, bonfires and green stuff, oh and i've been making and selling the odd scoop of ice cream too! :)
Life is indeed fine and dandy and now it's the cooler days of autumn where i get to breeeeeath a little.
Oh and how could i forget, there was the little trip to New York City with our friends Simon and Rachel. The City that Never Sleeps. Oh so true, especially when there's only 5 days to see it all...

And see it all we certainly did. We were on the case i tell you, and ticked all the boxes.

The weather was fab for us. There are of course zillions of photos, but here is a couple to get you in the spirit of things..
I'm loving October and all things witchy, but was falling out of love with my blog, may be fiddling with it a little, please indulge me.

Mud Dresses and Wellies

While we were on hol we had quite a lot of sunshine, but the rain did come and find us, one afternoon, which turned the tracks around the site to mud

Luckily, i was prepared!!
As they say there's no such thing as bad weather...just the wrong clothes :)

Summer Fun

Last week was 'that time of year' for us. The time when we travel to the War & Peace Show in Kent. To sit in 500 acres of field, surrounded by thousands of military machines, from WW1 right up to modern.
The boys spend every day rummaging through rows and rows of green, greasy bits of metal in the hope that they will find just the right part for there vehicle, at the right price.
Us girls spend a lot of time lounging about in the sun (when it's out) gossiping, sipping Pimms, and well generally being on holiday.
Here are some of the sights i saw whilst walking about:

Seems like a car parked in the wrong place....

The living history section of the sight is something to see, this year i was told that some WW1 re enactors actually fillled their trench up with water... now thats reality for you..

When i took the above pic i didn't even notice their was a 'man' trapped underneath the jeep.

Cute Plates

I've been rummaging through charity shops looking for plates. I like the 'mismatched' plate thing and want to get some for the house and the Reo.
This is the pile i have so far.
The four on the top of the pile were out of mum's cupboard :)

This one below is my Fav :)

Can't wait to sit in a field and eat my dinner of it!!

Charity Shopping..

Apart from sitting in fields looking at green things i have been buying a few summery items from charity shops lately:)
Here is a skirt i got today for the bargain price of 3.00, it's knee length so maybe i will get my legs brown.. You can't see on the pic but it has sparkly bits in the pattern, and you know, who dosn't love a bit of sparkle..

And this dress is a favourite already, it's a bit creased as i've washed it and not ironed it yet. This was 5.99 but it was brand new with the tag still on, would have been 26.00 so a bargain as well i'm sure you will agree.
Both these will be coming away in the lorry with me for the sunny weekends ahead..

Testing.....

Having blog trouble so this is just a wee test....

432 Fun

More pics from Debache... The Army Cadets spent the weekend working the carpark so as a treat the boys took them for a spin in the 432..

And the pic below shows what they got up to when they got rid of the passengers.
Donuts in a 432. Hmmmm.

The Weekends have started..

My first weekend away of the year was at Debache Airfield, it rained on and off, but we were nice and cosy in the Reo! We all got dolled up for the Hanger Dance on the Saturday night:

This pic below was us on the way to the Hanger:

And here is a pic of our little camp

Below is a pic of what i was up to most of the time, especially Sun as it rained a lot, sitting inside, listening to the rain beating down on the roof of the Reo, Woodburner lit, book in hand, and a glass of wine nearby.
Tough life.
