Remember the tea kettle - it is always up to its neck in hot water, yet it still sings!

Are you a Tea lover? How do you drink yours? Which type do you like?
I do love tea. I will drink a cup of 'Builders Tea' any time. Mr D loves Earl Grey.
And it has to be Twinnings, (he can tell the difference from Tesco's own...i've put him to the test!)

Ive treated myself to some rather cute little cups from Pip Studio (i will find some pics and post soon..) which are a kind of cross between a cup and a mug, which i am about to try out :)
Do you warm the pot first? i have to confess i do not, being a two-type tea household i just sling the tea bag in the mug.
But. I'm thinking of Changing my ways, as i do love it on visiting friends and watching the whole tea warming ritual:)

Then there is the cake that comes with it, who dosn't love that?

One day. I'm going to have Afternoon Tea at the Ritz.

Has Everybody seen this film yet?
I did my share of 'Johnny Stalking' last week with a fellow stalker.
We didn't venture to the big multi plex cinema, to see the 3D version, instead we supported our little local cinema, where it's half the price, it's never 3D, the sound can be..well you can hear it anyway...
But, on the upside the nice ladies will bring you a cup of tea.
In a proper cup :) Now there's service for ya.

Johnny was, well, Johnny.

I'm not sure if it's right that the cat freaked me out ever so slightly.

What came through my door this week..

Happiness this weeks has been in the shape of these lovely treats that have come through my door...

This book from RISI, i love that site!, i'm not sure when i'll get to start on that series though as i havent finished The Children's Book by AS Byatt.. reading has been on the backburner as i have been distracted a bit by these two...
We are ploughing through series 2 (think we have a lot of catching up to do as isn't it on series 5 now?)
We get them from http://www.lovefilm.com/ which is a fab way of watching series that you may have misssed. The only real 'downside' is that you find yourself watching 'just one more episode'!

Other goodies have been...The Dress came from Next! & it fits a treat! Just the shoes to sort out..
I also treated us to these lovely curtains and tie backs from the same place..loving them.:)

I cant leave without showing you these.. the knitted donkeys from
http://www.thedoneysanctury.org/ , knitted by supporters to raise much needed funds. Go on Treat yourself! Mine came complete with a pink hat & blanket:)

Don't they look like they are having a fab time in the grass!
What made you happy this week?

Who Loves Mail?

Am i one of the dying breed of people that love writing/receiving letters?
There is something great about sitting down in my fav chair and reading all the news from my friends, i love it more than emails/texts even blogging (eeeek...did i say that out loud!?)
As you know by now i am in love with the written word in general, so i suppose this is just an extension of that. I hope they never get rid of the good old Post Man, although i fear the end may be coming, as more and more companies try and persuade us to have 'paperless bills'.
Poor postie could soon be redundant. And i need him to send and receive news.
I must confess that i do not have a desk like this, but i would love one. I do my letter writing on my lap, in my fav arm chair.

Am i alone?

Can you believe that today i wrote a letter, walked to the post box, and plopped it in. My heart sank as i realised i didn't put a stamp on it! I have sent a message telling her she will have to pay another pound to collect my letter...but i know she will think that it's worth it. :)

Going to the Chapel....

I have a family wedding to go to in August, what to wear?
I just ordered this dress from Next...
Shoes are always a problem with dresses for me, i cant wear a heel too high as it gives my back a hard time, but i do think occasions like that need a little heel? (i'm thinking flats with this dress could equal 'frump')?
I quite like these from Next as well..
Shoe shopping for me is always a trial. I don't like a LOT. I don't know why that is.
I'm much more at home in Autumn/Winter when i can wear my dresses with boots/wellies and no one (well not many) bats an eye. :)

God couldn't be everywhere....so he created Mothers.

A Mother is a person that on seeing there are four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces that she never did care for pie.

Happy Mothers Day Mummy xx :)

A house without books is like a room without windows.

Following on from my post on Reading Rooms, i'm wondering where everyone reads?
Me? i'll read any where, any time any place... but i think this is probably my fav of all spaces..

The bed in the Reo where i sit and relax whilst the boys are playing with green stuff outside :)
Below is some of the book spaces in my house, as i said before, they are to be found everywhere.

Piles on shelves, tables, just waiting for their turn to be picked up and read.
'Books are not made for furniture, but there is nothing else that so beautifully furnishes a house.'

I have always loved books, from when i was in infant school, i used to love to go and choose books from the school library, then as i got to the 'pocket money' age i would spend my pennies on a book each week, and when i read that one i would swap it with a friend :)

ooooo roll on the summer days of laying in the sun with a good book

60 Years Young

My Mummy turned 60.
To celebrate her new ownership of a Bus Pass we had cake:)

And Ballooooons

And as seems to be the new tradition in our family, we took a trip to London Town, (the Limo didn't arrive this time), so we took the good old National Express to the land of the Cupacakes.

How cute were they! Delicious!
We shopped, and ate, we didn't stop eating.... then saw Mama Mia the Stage Show.

I think a good time was had by all :)

Reading Rooms

I may have mentioned a couple of times that we went to New York last year..
This was on of my fav places we visited, New York Public Library. Heaven.

All the cute little reading lamps, and allllll those books floors of them...there was even a huge computer room..
Talking (typing of reading, i read the first book in this series the other day, it has been published in 3 volumes each containg 3 books, so you get 3 books for 7.99 which has got to be a bargain, although mine was cheaper as i got it for a swap on RISI.
I quite enjoyed it, i read it in a day, very very easy reading!

I may have a break from it now though as i've been given this by a friend who said it was very good.

if only i had my own reading room to go to.... with big comfy leather sofas..

Hubbie would argue that every room in our house are my reading rooms, there's not a room in the house that hasn't got a pile of books on a table, or on the floor by a chair, or even in bookcases!
