Another trip to Yorkshire to visit Grannie in her new sheltered accommodation. Where there is a a spare bedroom especially for Grand daughters to stay.
And wifi. Must take lap top next time, or buy a tablet.
I did a fair bit of shopping in Betty’s Tea Room, and a fair bit of questioning why they haven't expanded to the southern quarters of England. It never fails to amaze me every time we visit, no matter what time of year, the crowds that go there for tea and cake, to sit in the coffee area, or the groups of people that queue to have afternoon tea in the inner sanctum of the restaurant. Mothers with children pointing to the extremely cute marzipan ghosts and pumpkins for their Halloween treats, and buying ‘that raspberry tart there’ to take home for Daddies tea.
All come at a price, but when it’s served to you by attentive staff dressed impeccably like they dropped straight off the set of BBC’s ‘The Paradise’ those extra pounds you pay are totally worth it.
Suffice to say, it’s been a good week. Now I have to go and cut up a wig and roll it in mud in preparation of the works Halloween dinner tomorrow night.
Happy Halloween all.
